Today November 7 2005 our son Jelle was born in Mathilda International Hospital in Hong Kong.
On Sunday November 6, we all went to the Wishing tree to make wishes for a healthy baby. The next day at around 9:30 we left of the hospital which is about 1 to 1,5 hours drive from us, as this is on HongKong Island. Things went very smooth and we were there way in time. The hospital is on top of the mountain in Hong kong Island on one of the most prestigious places with a great view over the Chinese sea, but we did not come for the view but to have a baby ! So we went to admission and they assigned a room for us. As we had a planned c-section Erna had to be prepped for an operation. around 13:00 they brought us to the surgical theatre (as they call it here) for the epideural. This took a bit longer then suspected but at the end it worked. at 15;00 exactly our son, healthy and all was born. We named him Jelle a name we already had in mind for 8 years but could not use to date. His full names are Jelle Patrick Michael Octave, so both his grandpa's are mentioned in his name.
His stats are: Lenght 51,5 cm, 3540 grams.
For godfather and godmother we choose Robert Birnstingl and Cindy Looy, both very good friends of us. Femke en Lotte are very happy to have a brother but its an emotional time for them, so many changes in such a short period of time, with moving, a new school and now a new baby in the house. But they came proudly to the hospital with their hand-made "I am a big sister" shirt. The baby brought some gifts for Femke and Lotte so the day was perfect.
Jelle showed he was a real boy and peed for the first time wetting the nurses and forcing them to gave him another bath. Way to go Jelle !
